Motor Vehicle Curriculum Manager


Job Title: Curriculum Team Leader (Motor Vehicle) Location: North London Contract: Full-time, Permanent Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri) Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per year Department: Teaching, Learning & Assessment Reporting to: Director of Development Overview We are seeking a Curriculum Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day running of the Motor Vehicle teaching department. This role combines departmental leadership with delivery of up to 24 hours teaching per week, with remission time for management responsibilities. The postholder will lead curriculum delivery, support staff development, ensure apprenticeship progression, and manage End Point Assessment (EPA) preparation and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Manage daily operations of the Motor Vehicle teaching department Deliver up to 24 hours teaching per week Monitor learner progress, attendance, retention and achievement Ensure timely gateway progression and EPA readiness Manage EPA planning, workshop preparation and assessment processes Ensure schemes of work, lesson plans and course files are in place Maintain and update IQA plans and processes weekly Ensure compliance with awarding bodies and inspection requirements Provide monthly learner and staff development reports to senior leadership Support employer engagement and provide capacity information for planning Lead staff recruitment, development, training and performance management Hold weekly team meetings and regular 1-to-1 reviews Provide cover teaching where requiredQuality & Performance Targets Achieve KPIs for achievement, pass rates, retention and attendance Ensure observations/learning walks meet good or above standard Maintain awarding body compliance and direct claims status Drive continuous improvement across all programmesEssential Requirements Proven management and team leadership experience Level 3 qualification in a relevant trade/subject area Strong knowledge of apprenticeship delivery and learner progression Ability to track performance data and report effectively IT skills (Microsoft packages and learner tracking systems) Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent) Strong communication and organisational skills Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities Commitment to CPD and continuous improvement Willingness to travel between centresImportant Notice Dovetail and Slate is a specialist education recruitment company.
