Client Details I'm partnering with a successful and friendly SME based in Runcorn who are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join them on a Temporary‑to‑Permanent basis. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who likes to roll their sleeves up, take ownership, and make a real impact as the business continues to grow. Description The Assistant Accountant responsibilities include: Prepayments, accruals and journals Fixed asset management Cost of sales analysis Preparing monthly management accounts for review Overseeing purchase ledger and sales ledger Supporting HR admin and payroll preparation Assisting with H&S processes Helping to streamline and improve the 10‑day month‑end close Profile The succesful Assistant Accounant is: Immediately available or short notice to start Experience preparing accounts up to trial balance / management accounts stage Confident with accruals, prepayments, journals & fixed assets Comfortable in a small, close‑knit SME environment Someone happy to get involved beyond core finance when needed Sage 200 experience is ideal Able to work onsite and build trust as you settle in Job Offer The benefits include: Temp‑to‑Perm opportunity Hybrid: 4 days in office after probation, 1 day from home after 6 months Genuine progression: role can evolve into Finance Manager Supportive team of ~40 employees
