Job Title: Contract Senior FPGA Engineer Location: Livingston (hybrid flexibility depending on project requirements) Contract Length: 8 weeks with possible extension, project dependent IR35: Outside Rate: £65 to £70 per hour Octagon Group is working with a global engineering and manufacturing organisation seeking a Contract Senior FPGA Engineer to support cutting-edge product development at their site in Livingston. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly experienced Contract Senior FPGA Engineer to join a collaborative team delivering technology across aerospace, healthcare, industrial and advanced communications sectors. The successful Contract Senior FPGA Engineer will play a key role across the full product lifecycle, from concept and architecture through to design, verification and manufacturing transition. Key Responsibilities – Contract Senior FPGA Engineer – Livingston * Architect and design advanced digital electronic circuitry * Develop FPGA solutions using HDL languages including VHDL and SystemVerilog/UVM * Manage design entry, synthesis, timing analysis/closure and place & route using Vivado and/or Quartus * Optimise FPGA designs for power, performance and area * Create fully self-checking test benches with directed and constrained random test cases * Support FPGA pinout optimisation and contribute to PCB layout activities * Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including software, mechanical, quality and manufacturing engineers Required Experience * 5+ years’ industry experience in FPGA design * Strong digital hardware architecture expertise * Degree qualified in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline * Experience working within complex, highly regulated engineering environments is advantageous * Excellent communication skills with a collaborative approach This is an excellent opportunity for a Contract Senior FPGA Engineer in Livingston looking to secure a long-term contract with a globally respected engineering business working on technology that makes a real-world impact
