We are supporting a well‑established civil engineering business that specialises in delivering highways and infrastructure projects across the UK. They’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team and support the delivery of a broad range of civils works. The Role As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be responsible for cost control and commercial management across highways, drainage and general civils schemes. You’ll play a key part in keeping projects financially healthy, compliant with NEC processes, and delivered in line with client expectations. This is a hybrid position, combining office, site and home working. Key Responsibilities Produce accurate monthly cost and value reports (CVRs). Assess and submit quotations, variations and compensation events. Prepare pricing for maintenance and framework‑based works. Maintain up‑to‑date cost information within internal systems and resolve cost‑related queries. Prepare and submit payment applications, valuations and final accounts. Manage the subcontractor supply chain — orders, payments, AFP assessments and commercial queries. Identify project risks and support mitigation strategies. Advise on contractual compliance, cost changes and scope amendments. Attend project meetings, both internally and with clients. Build strong relationships with subcontractors, operational teams and client representatives.What They’re Looking For Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent practical experience. Strong experience working under NEC3/NEC4 contracts. Background in civil engineering, ideally highways, drainage, structures or infrastructure maintenance. Excellent Excel/Word skills and confidence with database systems. Commercially aware, analytical and highly organised. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
