Role Overview: They are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Drainage Engineer to lead and contribute to the successful delivery of a wide variety of infrastructure and development projects. You'll play a key role in the design, management, and delivery of drainage strategies and designs, working closely with clients, statutory authorities, and fellow professionals. Key Responsibilities: - Develop drainage strategies and detailed designs for both private and adoptable systems (foul and surface water). - Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy reports in line with national and local planning policy. - Produce hydraulic modelling and drainage design using industry-standard software such as Causeway Flow. - Produce technical drawings and specifications. - Liaise with clients, local authorities, water companies, and other stakeholders to secure technical approvals (S104, S106, S185, SAB, LLFA, etc). - Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians. - Prepare fee proposals and invoices, monitor budgets and deadlines. - Attend design team and site meetings and provide technical support during construction phases. - Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and technical development. Key Qualifications and Skills: - Relevant Civil Engineering background (BEng, MEng, HNC, HND) or equivalent; - Chartered or working towards Chartered status. - Previous experience in drainage design for development infrastructure. - Strong understanding of SuDS, Flood Risk, Building Regulations, DCG and national planning policy. - Proficient in relevant software including AutoCAD, Causeway Flow or MicroDrainage, Microsoft Office and Bluebeam. - Excellent communication skills and ability to manage clients and stakeholders. - Strong report writing, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
