Operational Support Manager Maritime and Coastguard Agency Apply before 11:55 pm on Thursday 19th February 2026 📍 Location: Aberdeen, Belfast, Bridlington, Dover, Falmouth, Fareham, Holyhead, Lerwick, Milford Haven, Stornoway (Hybrid) 💷 Salary: £30,485 - A Civil Service Pension with an employer contribution of 28.97% 🕘️ Contract Type: Permanent – Flexible working, Full-time, Job share, Part-time 🏆️ Available Positions: 1 In this role you will provide effective and efficient administrative support to HM Coastguard Operations to ensure a high level of customer service is given to both internal and external stakeholders. HM Coastguard (HMCG) is the operational arm of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) with responsibility for 6 key missions - Search and Rescue, Pollution Response, Vessel Traffic Management, Maritime Safety, Maritime Security and Emergency and Disaster management. Top Responsibilities * Ensuring appropriate Operational Support resource is allocated for the administrative support for national functions. * Providing resource for full executive secretariat functions and managing administrative tasks for HMCG management operational meetings and working groups as required. * Management of the HMCG uniform ordering process. * Providing Operational Support resource to HMCG Operations. * Management and administration of team email inboxes. * Line management activities of the reporting officers including conducting performance management reviews, staff welfare, leave and absence requests and authorisation of staff travel and expenses. * You will line manage 5-7 direct reports Benefits * Employer pension contribution of 28.97% of your salary. About You To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience: * Experienced in line‑managing a remote team, ensuring clarity, support and consistent performance. * Highly organised and detail‑focused, able to provide clear, timely and accurate secretariat support to enable effective governance and decision‑making. * A strong team player with clear written and verbal communication skills, able to build positive working relationships. * Accurate and flexible, able to manage a busy and varied workload and work effectively with limited supervision.
