Maintenance Engineer - Multi-trader - £38k to £42k + Excellent benefits - Catford / Lewisham This is an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance person (multi-trader) to join a small friendly team, within a leading leading housing and supported living organisation for vulnerable adults who suffer from mental health and living in a supported housing environment. This would suit someone from a Hotel, Hospital, Care Home type background, with hands-on experience and qualifications, with an ethos of continuous improvement to achieve exceptional high standards. SALARY ETC: * £38k to £42k + excellent benefits such as enhanced holidays, academic support and career progression, good pension scheme, referral scheme, employee support programme etc. * This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours/week * Catford / Lewisham area of London, but visits to other sites within the London area for projects. * 8:30am – 5pm Monday to Friday, there might be some on call responsibilities on occasions, but very rare and additional allowance paid for this. * Permanent, full-time. REQUIREMENTS: * You must have full rights to work in the UK (No sponsorship available) * A clean driving license and daily access to your own vehicle, which you are happy to use for work (mileage paid for when visiting sites). * Trade related qualification, such as in carpentry or plumbing, etc. * A minimum of 2 years experience in a hands-on role, OR a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a trade, with a high level of demonstrable competency. * Experience investigating maintenance issues. * Strong written and verbal command of the English language. * Self-motivated and able to use own initiative to find solutions, work to tight deadlines, and prioritise a varied workload. * Warm and friendly demeanour with a positive and open-minded attitude. * A genuine desire to want to make a difference and help disadvantaged individuals to live meaningful and purposeful lives. DUTIES TO INCLUDE: * Responsible for maintenance and repair tasks across all properties. This includes internal and external communal and office areas, as well as resident units. * To complete projects including refurbishments of offices and resident units as required. * Basic carpentry, basic electrics, basic plumbing, tiling of small areas, plastering, and painting. * Undertake all routine maintenance tasks and minor general repair work. * Assist staff with moving and assembling furniture as requested. * Remove commodities delivered to the building to safe storage areas. * Responsible for purchasing all your day-to-day materials in a responsible manner. * Make sure regular checks and repairs or upgrades are made in communal areas property units. * Supervise gardener work and highlight areas of improvement to the Maintenance Supervisor. * Help to prepare and assist with accommodation inspections and audits on a regular basis. * To report all specialist jobs such as fire-related issues, CCTV, major electrical & plumbing issues, leaks, refurbishments etc. to the Maintenance Supervisor, who will be responsible for it
