The role involves leading commercial delivery across residential, commercial, and refurbishment projects from early cost planning through to contract administration and final accounts. Key responsibilities include: Delivering pre-contract estimating and detailed cost planning. Providing procurement advice, tender documentation and contractor evaluation. Administering contracts under JCT and similar standard forms. Preparing and negotiating interim valuations and final accounts. Managing change control processes and maintaining accurate cost reporting. Advising clients on commercial risk and mitigation strategies. Supporting dispute resolution through clear records and factual cost analysis. Leading client meetings and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Mentoring and developing junior members of the cost consultancy team.Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Requirements: Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management. RICS accredited qualification preferred (or willingness to work towards it). Strong knowledge of residential, commercial, and refurbishment sectors. Proficient in cost estimating, measurement, and reporting tools such as Excel or equivalent software. Experience administering JCT or similar standard form contracts. Proven ability to deliver accurate cost advice and manage valuations through to final accounts.
