Control System Engineer Teesside, North East Salary: up to £65,000 basic Jackson Hogg is delighted to be working with a leading electrical and automation engineering consultancy based in Teesside, looking to bring a Control System Engineer to their team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading projects and taking designs from concept to delivery. The ideal candidate will be familiar with producing specifications, designs, and calculations from scratch including PLC and SCADA software design for control of power generation & distribution systems, VSDs, and control, monitoring and datalogging systems. Control System Engineer Key Responsibilities: * Preparing project documentation including basis of design, detailed functional design specification, FAT, SIT and SAT procedures. * Programming PLCs/HMIs/SCADA for a variety of marine applications (Ballast Systems, Alarm Systems, Propulsion Systems, Energy Storage Systems etc.) * Creating design concepts and producing detailed designs from them including (but not limited to) full lifecycle software design, I/O lists, alarms lists, design reports, cause & effect matrices & FMECA. * Liaising with Purchasing for equipment procurement, preparing RFQs and technical procurement specifications. * Liaising with Production, resolving design documentation issues and assisting with creation of as built documentation. * Start up, commissioning, factory acceptance testing, and where necessary site commissioning, site integration and site acceptance testing. * Production of final project close out documentation package including drawing updates, O&M manuals, spare parts lists. * After sales service support. Control System Engineer Key Requirements: * The successful candidate is likely to be degree qualified. * Highly proficient with Siemens TIA Portal and other platforms such as B&R Automation Studio. * Familiar with various communication protocols such as MODBUS TCP/RTU, ASCII, PROFINET, CANBUS, OPC UA. * Extensive experience working with variable speed drives, switchgear and instrumentation systems. * You will be responsible for taking designs from concept to reality, and will be familiar with producing specifications, designs and reports from scratch encompassing PLC/SCADA, power generation & distribution and variable speed drive systems. * Electrical Design experience would be a distinct advantage. * Experience with Hydraulic Systems would also be a distinct advantage. * Experience in Microsoft Office Suite. * Confident communication skills - written and verbal. * Numerate with good attention to detail. * Strong interpersonal skills, enjoy working as part of a team. Qualification requirements: Degree qualified in Marine / Instrumentation & Controls Engineering / Electrical related discipline.
