Finance Assistant

Finance Assistant Airdrie £28,000 - £30,000 Join a fast-paced, high-performing team as a Finance Assistant with a leading business. This is a busy, high-volume role where accuracy and strong time management are essential. You'll support the finance and contracts teams with a range of administrative and financial tasks, including data entry, email management, and visitor reception. Knowledge of VAT and CIS is a real advantage. Hours: * Monday-Thursday: 08:00-17:00 * Friday: 08:00-16:00 (39-hour week, 1-hour lunch) Benefits: * Free onsite lunch * Private medical * Life assurance * Pension (5% employee / 3% employer) * Vitality healthcare * Career development * 25 days' holiday + 8 bank holidays Key Responsibilities * Setting up new contracts, suppliers, subcontractors, and operatives in the COINS finance system * Managing weekly subcontractor payments and completing IR35 checks * Processing invoices, petty cash, and supplier credit applications * Preparing retention releases and supporting supplier payment runs * Handling credit control tasks, including inbox management and payment chasing when needed * Completing reconciliations-credit cards, CIS, petty cash, and other monthly checks * Supporting month-end processes and ensuring financial data is accurate and up to date * Carrying out VAT checks for proforma payments * Assisting with web expenses during holiday cover * Providing general admin support across the team to keep everything running efficiently About You * Experience in a similar finance or admin role * Strong communicator with excellent attention to detail * Proactive with a strong work ethic * Positive, team-focused attitude * Comfortable in a high-volume, fast-paced environment * Confident using Microsoft Word and Excel Interested?
