Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to lead and develop inclusive practice across the school. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will ensure high-quality provision for students with SEND, maintain compliance with the SEND Code of Practice (2014), and promote a culture of high expectations and inclusion for all learners. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage SEND provision across the school in line with statutory requirements and school policy. Ensure accurate identification, assessment, tracking, and review of students with SEND, maintaining an up-to-date SEND register and profiles. Promote and embed Quality First Teaching and effective differentiation across the school. Oversee and evaluate targeted interventions, deploying staff and resources effectively. Work closely with parents, carers, external agencies, and professionals to support student progress and wellbeing. Provide professional development and guidance for staff in relation to SEND. Monitor and report on the progress and impact of SEND provision, including reporting to governors. Ensure safeguarding, equality, and inclusion are central to SEND practice. Person Specification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. SENCO qualification (National Award for SEN Coordination) or willingness to work towards it. Proven experience of supporting students with SEND within a school setting. Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation. Experience of working collaboratively with staff, parents, governors, and external agencies. Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills. Commitment to inclusive education, safeguarding, and raising outcomes for all learners.
