Product Design Engineer We are working with an industry leader in the design and manufacture of innovative outdoor and marine equipment. With a wide portfolio that helps enable and enhance the use of commercial, navigation and personal electronics in demanding outdoor environments. Trusted by customers worldwide, our products are used across powerboats, yachts, off-road vehicles, RVs and industrial applications, Please note this role is full onsite based in Exeter. This is a hands-on role where you will own projects end-to-end, taking products from concept through to full production. You will be responsible for developing exciting, market-leading products at pace, as well as extending existing ranges across the recreational marine, RV and outdoor markets. As a Product Design Engineer you will be Researching, designing, prototyping and testing products from initial concept through to production Assessing project feasibility and presenting concept ideas to the sales team and key OEM customers Building prototypes and carrying out in-house, laboratory and on-water testing Creating bills of materials (BOMs) and compiling tooling costings for review Collaborating with a global supply chain to ensure designs are optimised for manufacture Reviewing and signing off production samples Producing high-quality renders and animations to support the marketing team Experience in product design or design engineering, with a relevant degree A proven ability to manage and deliver projects on time and within budget Experience working with electronics, including testing, certification, and collaboration with electronics engineers (particularly low-voltage automotive systems) A solid understanding of materials and manufacturing processes High proficiency in 3D CAD (ideally SolidWorks), with FEA and rendering skills Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present ideas Strong hands-on skills in model making, prototyping and workshop practices Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign is advantageous This role requires you have the full rights to work in the UK YOu must be able to work onsite daily, the role is based in Exeter
