Junior Quantity Surveyor – Construction / M&E Location: Romford, Essex Type: Office-based | Full-time, Monday to Friday Salary: Circa £45,000 Our client is a well-established contractor operating within the construction and building services sector and is looking to appoint a Junior Quantity Surveyor to support their commercial team across live projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone early in their quantity surveying career to gain hands-on experience in cost control, procurement and commercial administration, working closely with an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor. The Role The Junior Quantity Surveyor will assist with the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account, supporting the wider commercial and operational teams. Key Responsibilities Supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor with day-to-day commercial duties Assisting with procurement, tender analysis and preparation of subcontract orders Measurement and take-offs to support valuations, variations and final accounts Assisting with Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and change management Supporting subcontractor and supplier payment processes Liaising with site teams and attending commercial and site meetings as required Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation About You Minimum of 1 year’s experience within construction (M&E experience beneficial but not essential) Strong numerical and analytical skills Confident using Microsoft Excel Well organised, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks Keen to develop a long-term career in quantity surveying What’s on Offer Salary circa £45,000 Structured career development and mentoring Exposure to live projects and full commercial processes Stable, office-based role within a growing business
