Production Team Leader - Progression to Production Manager Salary: Starting at ~ £35,000 Depending on Experience Shift: Afternoon to Evening Location: Near Preston Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Are you a Supervisor or a Team Leader from a Food Manufacturing background and looking for an opportunity to progress into Production Management? This leading Food Manufacturer supplies fresh produce to several major supermarkets across the UK and they are now looking for someone to manage one of their production teams at a key site. The ideal candidate will be experienced in leading Production teams of at least 20 people in Food Manufacturing or Packaging environments, will have a strong awareness of things such as Food Safety & Hygiene, and will have a proactive, hands-on approach to leadership. Day-to-day of the role: Lead, motivate, and develop production staff to achieve targets while maintaining strong communication and positive engagement Oversee daily production and packhouse operations, ensuring smooth workflow, accurate grading, and timely delivery of orders Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with legislation, risk assessments, and safe operation of all equipment Ensure colleagues are trained, competent, and supported, identifying and addressing skill gaps where necessary Monitor output, quality, efficiency, and costs, optimising labour usage while upholding site standards and hygiene Manage production‑related paperwork, traceability, audits, and site compliance requirements, supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence Required Skills & Qualifications: Previous experience leading Production staff in a Food Manufacturing or Packaging environment Strong understanding of, or qualified in, Food Safety, Allergen Awareness, HACCP etc. Hands-on approach to leadership and happy to get stuck into day-to-day operations If you are interested in this position, click apply or contact Stuart Goble at Reed.
