Job Description: Auto Electrician The Auto Electrician is responsible for the installation, testing, diagnosis, and repair of electrical systems across a range of commercial vehicle builds. Working within a production environment, the role supports the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and road-ready vehicles while meeting safety, quality, and production targets. Key Responsibilities: * Install, test, and commission vehicle wiring looms, lighting systems, and electrical components * Fit auxiliary electrical equipment including beacons, work lights, cameras, inverters, and related systems * Ensure all electrical installations meet required specifications and quality standards * Diagnose and repair electrical faults on new and existing vehicle builds * Carry out fault-finding on 12V and 24V electrical systems using appropriate diagnostic tools and methods * Rectify electrical issues efficiently to minimise production delays * Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical instructions * Complete work in line with job cards, build schedules, and company procedures * Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards and legislation * Work collaboratively with production, fabrication, and finishing teams to deliver complete vehicle builds * Support workflow within a production-line environment to meet deadlines * Communicate effectively with colleagues to resolve build or technical issues * Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices * Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working area in line with company housekeeping standards Skills, Experience, and Attributes: * Proven experience as an Auto Electrician or in a similar role within the automotive or commercial vehicle sector * Relevant qualifications in Auto Electrical Engineering or a related discipline * Experience with commercial vehicles, vehicle conversions, or specialist body builds (desirable) * Familiarity with auxiliary electrical systems and bespoke vehicle installations (desirable) * Strong understanding of 12V and 24V vehicle electrical systems * Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical drawings * Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills * Good knowledge of safe working practices in a workshop or factory environment * High attention to detail with pride in workmanship * Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively * Professional attitude with strong communication skills * Ability to work independently while supporting wider operational teams * Willingness to learn and develop new skills
