Precision Rolling & Slitting Operator Location: Redditch Pay Rate: £14.00 – £16.00 per hour Hours: Full-Time, Permanent Working Hours: Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30 Friday: 08:00 – 15:00 Overtime: Flexible overtime available after 16:30 or Saturday mornings Role Overview We are working with a specialist manufacturing company in Redditch, seeking a Precision Rolling & Slitting Operator to join their production team. This hands-on role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working with tight-tolerance metal products, operating rolling mills, bonding, and slitting machines. The successful candidate will ensure high-quality output, maintain machinery efficiently, and contribute to a safe, productive environment. Full training is provided, making this role perfect for those looking to develop long-term expertise in a niche industry. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate rolling mills and bonding machines to precise tolerances Operate slitting (shearing) machines for accurate metal strips Measure and calculate lengths and quantities of strips using Excel and mental arithmetic Support other production activities across the factory as required Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace Follow all health & safety procedures Candidate Requirements Essential: Calm, patient, and detail-oriented Strong mechanical awareness (tested in interview) Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP/SAP experience is a bonus Willing to learn multiple machines and processes Commitment to a long-term role (training lasts 6–12 months) Desirable: Experience in metal manufacturing, rolling, or slitting Forklift license or full clean driving license Previous apprenticeship or formal mechanical qualification What’s On Offer £14.00 – £16.00 per hour Permanent role with career progression opportunities Early finish every Friday Full training provided Hands-on work with precision rolling and slitting machinery Flexible overtime available (after 16:30 or Saturday mornings) Long-term career opportunity in a specialist manufacturing environment About Workforce Staffing We connect skilled professionals with leading roles across Engineering, Technical, and Manufacturing.
