Principal or Associate Geo-Environmental Engineer

Location: Central Manchester (City Centre) Salary: £55,000-£60,000+ (DOE) + progression The Opportunity We're working with a highly respected multi disciplinary consultancy that is expanding its presence in Manchester and looking to appoint a Principal or Associate Geo-Environmental Engineer to help lead that growth. Importantly, this is not a start-from-scratch role. The business already has a well-established client base, a strong regional pipeline of work, and an experienced technical and field team in place to support delivery. This role offers the chance to step into a senior leadership position, working closely with the Director to develop the Manchester city-centre Geo team, strengthen existing client relationships, and drive further local business development. Principal or Associate Geo-Environmental Engineer Key Responsibilities Lead and deliver a wide range of ground investigations and contaminated land projects Author and review Phase 1 & Phase 2 reports, risk assessments, remediation strategies, validation reports and due diligence Provide geotechnical input and foundation recommendations Work alongside an established technical and site investigation team to ensure high-quality delivery Support and lead bids, tenders and client development activities, building on an existing client base Assist the Director with financial control, budgets and strategic planning Mentor staff and help grow a Manchester-based Geo-Environmental teamPrincipal or Associate Geo-Environmental Engineer - About You 8+ years' experience in Geo-Environmental / Geotechnical consultancy Chartered (Geological Society, IES, ICE or equivalent) Strong technical capability across contaminated land and GI Highly competent technical author and reviewer Commercially aware with experience in business development and client engagement Motivated to step into a leadership role within an established, supportive businessWhy This Role?
