Marine Civils Engineer Location: Belfast Salary: £40,000 – £43,000 Hours: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week We are currently recruiting for a Marine / Heavy Civils Engineer to join a well-established and highly respected engineering consultancy based in Belfast. This opportunity would suit a Civil Engineering graduate with approximately 2 years’ post-graduate experience who is looking to build a long-term career within marine, coastal, and heavy civil engineering projects. You will be supported by senior engineers and benefit from structured training and clear progression. The Role Reporting to a Line Manager, you will be involved in the detailed design and delivery of marine and civil engineering works. The role includes both head office-based design and site-based contract administration, offering excellent exposure across the full project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Assist with the design, preparation of contract documentation and administration of construction projects under senior supervision Design of marine structures and associated infrastructure within commercial ports and fishing harbours Develop and apply knowledge of sea defences and coastal protection systems Preparation of technical specifications and Bills of Quantities Supervision of technicians in the production of detailed scheme drawings Attendance at design team meetings and client consultations Organising and attending site surveys and site investigations Preparation of feasibility studies, condition inspection reports and appraisal studies Operate in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System Contribute to Health & Safety documentation, including designer input to H&S plans Provide general civil engineering support across other areas of the business when required Training & Development Engineers benefit from regular external training, and all graduate engineers are encouraged and fully supported in working towards Chartership with their chosen professional body.
