local Council is recruiting for a Modern Workplace Engineer on a permanent basis. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on telephony and collaboration technologies, playing a key part in ensuring council staff have reliable, secure and user-friendly communications tools. Please note this is a hybrid role, with candidates required on site up to 2 days per week. The role As a Modern Workplace Engineer, you will: * Provide expert support for telephony and unified communications, with a strong focus on Microsoft Teams Phones, calling policies and user configuration * Support users across modern workplace tools including Teams, M365 applications, laptops and remote working solutions * Install, configure and maintain end-user devices, software and telephony solutions to ensure high availability and performance * Troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents relating to voice, collaboration and connectivity, taking ownership through to resolution * Work closely with users and stakeholders to improve adoption and effective use of telephony and collaboration tools * Ensure secure and compliant IT operations by adhering to IT policies, security standards and best practice Key skills required As a Modern Workplace Engineer, you must have: * Strong experience supporting enterprise telephony solutions, ideally Microsoft Teams Phones or similar unified communication platforms including creating channels * Experience supporting user-facing technology in a complex organisation * Knowledge of incident management, systems installation and network connectivity * Experience using endpoint management tools such as Intune, alongside productivity and collaboration platforms * Excellent communication skills and a strong customer-service mindset * The ability to work proactively, solve problems and support digital and telephony adoption across the organisation What you get in return A salary between £45,750 – £49,056 plus the Local Government Pension Scheme and much more
