ICA / Control Systems Engineer

Framework: AMP8 (2025–2030) Delivery Model: Build-Only construction & commissioning Locations: Manchester | Liverpool | Warrington | Preston | Blackburn | Chester Delivery Environment You will be working on live or near-live water and wastewater assets, supporting the installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of control systems designed elsewhere. This role exists because AMP8 Build-Only delivery relies on first-time-right commissioning under tight regulatory and operational constraints. Day-to-Day Responsibilities * Install and integrate PLC, SCADA, telemetry, MCCs, and field instrumentation * Carry out FATs, SATs, loop checks, and functional testing * Fault-find hardware, software, and communications issues during commissioning * Work closely with MEICA, process, and commissioning engineers to achieve handover readiness * Support O&M documentation, as-built updates, and operator familiarisation What Separates Strong from Weak Candidates * Strong candidates have commissioned systems on site, not just configured software * They understand the operational consequences of control failures * They are calm, methodical, and safe when commissioning under programme pressure If you are interested in learning more about this role, please click 'apply', and I will be in touch shortly to discuss it further
