Position: Geography Teacher (KS3 & KS4) Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire Salary: £29,344 - £44,919 Contract Type: Full-Time Start Date: February 2026 About the School An outstanding secondary school in Aylesbury is seeking a dynamic and passionate Geography Teacher to join their successful Humanities department. Key Responsibilities Curriculum Development and Planning Design and deliver an engaging Geography curriculum that adheres to national standards. Plan lessons that are inclusive and tailored to the diverse learning styles and abilities of students. Classroom Teaching Provide high-quality, interactive Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. Teach a broad range of geographical topics, such as climate change, ecosystems, urbanization, and global development. Utilize a variety of teaching methods, technology, and resources to enrich the learning experience. Create and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages active student participation. Assessment and Progress Tracking Regularly assess student progress through both formative and summative assessments. Offer constructive feedback to support student growth and development. Keep accurate records of student progress, grades, and achievements. Differentiation and Individualized Support Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students at different levels of ability. Provide additional support or challenge to help all students achieve their personal best. Communication and Collaboration Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and key updates. Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and participate in parent-teacher meetings. Professional Development Stay current with the latest developments in geography education. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge. The Ideal Candidate A degree in Education, Geography, or a related field (Master’s degree desirable). Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialization in Geography for secondary education. Proven experience teaching Geography at the secondary level. Strong understanding of both physical and human geography, along with an awareness of global issues. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. A passion for teaching and creating a positive, challenging, and inclusive learning environment.
