HIU Engineer (Foot-Mobile) London £35,000 to £55,000 DOE + Benefits Permanent | Monday to Friday | 8:00am to 5:00pm We are recruiting an experienced HIU Engineer to join a specialist mechanical and energy services business working across high-rise residential and commercial developments throughout London. This is a foot-mobile position, travelling between sites using the London transport network. No driving licence is required. It is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who prefers city-based work without van driving, while still operating on high-value, technically interesting systems. Role Overview You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding of Heat Interface Units across energy centres and plant rooms in residential and commercial buildings. The role combines technical problem solving with client-facing professionalism. Key Responsibilities * Service, maintain, and fault-find HIUs * Work within plant rooms and energy centres * Diagnose system faults and carry out effective repairs * Ensure compliance with safety, performance, and site standards * Communicate clearly with residents, site teams, and clients * Complete service records, job sheets, and reports accurately * Support colleagues on complex or large-scale works when required Requirements * Proven experience working on HIUs * Strong understanding of plant rooms and energy centre systems * Confident working in high-rise residential and commercial environments * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills * Professional, client-facing approach * Able to work independently and as part of a team * Comfortable in a foot-mobile role using public transport Salary & Package * £35,000 to £55,000 per annum depending on experience * Full-time, permanent position * Monday to Friday working pattern * Optional overtime and call-out rota * Structured induction with a supported settling-in period * Ongoing technical training and development * Long-term job security within a stable and growing business Why Apply This is a rare opportunity to secure a city-based engineering role with excellent earning potential, strong technical exposure, and genuine long-term stability, without the pressures of driving, heavy travel, or short-term contract work
