Head of Fleet

My client is a leader in the waste and recycling industry, operating a large and complex fleet that plays a critical role in delivering essential services. As part of an ongoing programme of investment and transformation, they are seeking a Head of Fleet to provide strategic leadership across fleet, plant, and asset management. This is a senior, influential role with responsibility for shaping long-term fleet strategy, driving compliance and operational excellence, and accelerating the transition to sustainable, low-carbon fleet solutions. The Role * Lead and deliver a future-focused fleet strategy across acquisition, lifecycle, and maintenance * Oversee fleet procurement and major capital investment programmes * Ensure full compliance with transport legislation and operator licensing requirements * Manage capital budgets for fleet replacement. * Establish performance metrics to evaluate procurement effectiveness and drive continuous improvement. * Oversee fleet maintenance schedules and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Ideal Candidate: * Senior-level experience in fleet, transport, or asset management * Strong strategic, commercial, and leadership capability * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills * Degree or professional qualification in a relevant discipline * In-depth knowledge of fleet operations, compliance, and procurement * A passion for sustainability and continuous improvement
