Electrical Construction Supervisor – LV / HV (BESS Project) 📍 Location: Staythorpe BESS, Newark (NG23) 📍 Regional Coverage: Nottingham / Derby / Chesterfield / M1 Corridor 💷 Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 + benefits + company vehicle 🕒 Type: Permanent | Full-time (40 hours) The Opportunity We’re recruiting an Electrical Construction Supervisor to support the delivery of a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project at Staythorpe, Newark. This is a site-based supervisory role with real responsibility — overseeing LV and HV electrical installation works on a high-profile energy project that directly supports the UK’s transition to net zero. a NERS-accredited Independent Connections Provider (ICP) delivering contestable works up to 132kV, with capability on National Grid infrastructure up to 400kV. This is a long-term opportunity within a growing, technically strong business. The Role As Electrical Construction Supervisor, you’ll take day-to-day responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of LV/HV electrical installation works on site. Working closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and suppliers, you’ll ensure work is delivered right first time, to programme and to DNO standards. Key Responsibilities * Supervise and coordinate LV & HV electrical installation works on site * Oversee installation of: Switchgear, Transformers,Earthing and bonding systems, Ducting and cabling, Protection and control systems. * Interpret and deliver works in line with electrical drawings, specifications, and DNO standards (G81) * Manage and inspect above-ground and below-ground electrical installations * Support electrical testing, commissioning activities, and quality inspections * Review RAMS and subcontractor documentation to ensure scope and compliance * Provide regular progress and site updates to the Project Manager * Ensure full compliance What We’re Looking For * Minimum 5 years’ experience in LV/HV electrical installation projects (HV essential) * Strong hands-on background with Switchgear, Transformers, Substations, Generators * Experience supervising subcontractors on technical electrical works * Good working knowledge of DNO standards, including G81 * Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and site compliance * Confident communicator with the ability to manage site teams and interfaces * Competent using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Desirable Experience * Experience working on projects up to 132kV * Familiarity with DNO authorisations and SAP processes Qualifications (Essential / Desirable) * City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition Wiring Regulations * City & Guilds 2391 – Inspection & Testing * City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 – Electrical Installations * SMSTS * NRSWA Street Works Supervisor * Part P (Defined or Full Scope) * Emergency First Aid / Fire Warden * Full UK Driving Licence What’s On Offer * Competitive salary (£55,000 – £60,000) * Company vehicle and tools provided * Long-term role on a flagship BESS project * Ongoing training and career development * Stable, safety-focused, and professional working environment
