EC Operations & Growth Specialist (Asian Food)

Work Style: Primarily office-based at the North Greenwich office Employment Type Permanent / Fixed-term contract (to be discussed) Salary £35k~45k Depending on experience About the Role We are operating an online store serving the UK market and are looking for an experienced and proactive E-commerce Operations & Growth Specialist to support the next stage of business growth. This role goes beyond day-to-day store management. You will take ownership of sales growth, marketing strategy, promotional planning, UX optimisation, and operational improvements, while developing and executing both B2B (small business-focused) and B2C (consumer-focused) sales and promotional strategies. You will also support hands-on operational tasks when required. This is a high-autonomy role where you will be involved in both strategic planning and execution. Key Responsibilities Overall management of the online shop and annual strategy planning Preparation of sales and KPI reports and reporting to stakeholders Planning and execution of sales and promotional strategies for both B2B (small businesses) and B2C (general households) channels Development of initiatives aimed at increasing online shop sales Planning and management of promotions such as sales and campaigns Operational improvements for the online shop, primarily using Shopify Operational support for order and inventory management as needed Uploading new products and optimizing product assortment UX improvements (site structure, navigation, content enhancement, etc.) Research and selection of new products to be handled Research, selection, and consideration of implementation for new agents (sales/partners) and delivery services Negotiation and direction with external agencies, agents, and delivery companies Required Skills & Experience Understanding of the UK online food market Experience in strategic planning for online businesses Hands-on marketing experience English: Business level Japanese: Business level Minimum 3 years of professional work experience Better to have Experience living in Japan (highly preferred) Ability to speak Japanese (highly preferred) Experience in digital advertising setup and management Social media management experience Experience managing online shops using Shopify or similar platforms Strong interest in Japanese food and culture (highly preferred) Marketing and market research experience in the UK Practical experience in e-commerce or online business Experience in UX improvements and site redesign projects Knowledge and practical experience in SEO Basic coding skills (HTML/CSS) Experience in business development or launching new businesses Desirable Skills & Experience • Experience living in Japan (highly desirable) • Ability to speak Japanese to a conversational level (highly desirable) • Strong interest in Japanese food and culture (highly desirable) • Experience marketing specifically for the UK market • Background in e-commerce or online business operations • Experience in the food or FMCG industry • Experience in UX optimisation and website renewal projects • Knowledge of SEO best practices • Design experience using tools such as Canva • Basic HTML/CSS or coding knowledge • Customer service experience • Business development or new business launch experience • Experience working with agencies, agents, or logistics providers Personal Attributes • Proactive and self-driven, not passive • Comfortable working in a fast-growing and evolving business environment • Data-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement • Able to work independently while collaborating with multiple stakeholders What We Offer • A high level of autonomy and ownership • Involvement across strategy, execution, and optimisation • Opportunity to contribute directly to the growth of a UK-focused e-commerce business Performance Evaluation Performance will be evaluated based on measurable outcomes, including: • Revenue growth • Conversion rate (CVR) improvement • Customer lifetime value (LTV) enhancement Visa & Right to Work • Youth Mobility Scheme (YMS) visa holders are welcome • UK work visa sponsorship may be available based on performance and business needs Benefits • Staff discount available
