Role Overview The Finance Officer will report to the Assistant Accountant and work closely with the wider Finance Team. This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function, with responsibility for maintaining accurate accounting records, managing payments and supporting audit and reporting activity. Purpose of the Role To support the Assistant Accountant in maintaining accurate accounting records, processing receipts and payments, and assisting with the smooth operation of the finance function. Key Responsibilities This role will include (but is not limited to): Maintaining accurate day-to-day accounting records within the finance system Managing the purchase ledger Ensuring purchase invoices and expenses are correctly authorised and coded Setting up new supplier, employee and volunteer accounts on a regular basis Processing supplier, employee and volunteer payments within agreed terms Running weekly payment runs with appropriate approvals Processing international payments, refunds and bank transactions Managing direct debit supplier accounts, including posting and allocation Reconciling balance sheet accounts as required Supporting the year-end audit process and preparing information for auditors Attending meetings as required Providing cover for other finance team members when needed Supporting the Assistant Accountant with additional finance tasks as required Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role Accounts Payable experience Experience using SUN system Strong Excel experience - Essential Interested to find out more - please reach out!
