Mechanical Design Engineer (Solidworks)

Mechanical Design Engineer (SolidWorks) £40,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience Gloucester Permanent Position The Role We’re seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong SolidWorks skills to produce high-quality drawings and CAD models for our range of Special Purpose Equipment. This is a fast-paced role with varied customer requirements, alongside opportunities to contribute to process improvements and technical documentation. Key Responsibilities • Produce SolidWorks models, GA drawings, and maintain the standard parts library. • Create customer approval, production, and as-built drawings, including GA and P&ID schematics. • Review drawings and calculations. • Manage engineering change requests. • Liaise with suppliers and internal teams. • Run small engineering projects from start to finish. • Prepare technical documents such as datasheets and O&M content. Skills & Experience • Experience designing mechanical/electrical equipment • Strong SolidWorks skills essential. • Knowledge of sheet metal, fabrication, and steelwork beneficial. • Electrical knowledge, AutoCAD 2D, and Revit experience advantageous.
