Research and Development Engineer

Research and Development Engineer Xiros designs and develops innovative textile-based implants used in the repair and restoration of soft tissues in the human body. We are now offering an entry-level opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering or Medical Engineering graduate to join our Research and Development team at our Yeadon, Leeds (West Yorkshire) site. The role: Working closely with the Head of R&D and Senior Project Manager, you will contribute to the development of new medical devices from concept through to validation. Key responsibilities include: • Supporting New Product Development activities across multiple projects. • Conducting laboratory-based testing of medical devices. • Preparing technical documentation and test reports to support product development and regulatory requirements. • Collaborating cross-functionally with colleagues as required. To be successful in this role, you will have: • A 2:1 degree, or above, in Mechanical Engineering or Medical Engineering. • Experience using CAD software, gained through university projects or previous employment. • A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong planning and organisational skills. • Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different functions. • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate technical reports and documentation.
