Role: Head of Science Start Date: September 2026 Location: Cambridgeshire Contract Term: Permanent Salary: Competitive A leading independent school in Cambridgeshire is seeking a Head of Science for their Junior School. This is a full time and permanent role from September 2026. Job Description includes: * This role will entail teaching Science from Year 6 through to Year 8 including Common Entrance and Scholarship alongside leading the department * To review assessment information and agree pupil setting arrangements with the team of staff teaching Science in years 6, 7 and 8 and advise the the Senior School Head of Science on the setting of pupils transferring to year 9 * Take responsibility for curriculum coordination, resourcing, budgeting, development planning and liaison with regard to Science matters throughout the Junior School * To line manage the Science Technician Person Specification includes: * Be an experienced, graduate specialist teacher of Science with wide experience of teaching, able to demonstrate an ability to promote the achievement of pupils of all abilities through inspirational teaching * Have a demonstrable interest in current educational initiatives and a commitment to ongoing personal, professional development and the development of colleagues in a team for which they are responsible If you have a passion for teaching Science and would like to lead the department at an outstanding independent junior school in Cambridgeshire, please send your CV to Miranda or contact her for more information.
