Contracts Manager - Flat Roofing Projects

Overview We Build Recruitment are currently looking to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager with a strong background in flat roofing projects to oversee the delivery of multiple contracts from pre-start through to completion. The role requires a hands-on, site-focused approach and strong coordination with site teams, clients, and commercial stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Applicants should be based locally to West Yorkshire, ideally within reasonable commuting distance of Wakefield, due to a high volume of works and regular travel to 2–3 project sites will be required. Key Responsibilities Contract & Project Management * Manage multiple flat roofing contracts simultaneously from award to final account * Plan, coordinate, and oversee site operations across 2–3 active sites * Ensure works are delivered in line with contract specifications, programmes, and budgets * Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors, including local authority clients Commercial & Financial Control * Monitor project costs, variations, and valuations * Prepare and manage interim applications, variations, and final accounts * Work closely with commercial teams to maintain profitability Site & Team Management * Support and manage Site Managers, Supervisors, and roofing operatives * Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety * Ensure labour, plant, and materials are effectively planned and resourced Health, Safety & Compliance * Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation and company procedures * Review and approve RAMS, method statements, and risk assessments * Carry out site inspections and promptly address any non-conformances Client & Stakeholder Communication * Act as the main point of contact for assigned clients * Attend progress and site meetings, providing clear updates on programme and performance * Maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams Required Experience & Skills * Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within flat roofing * Strong knowledge of flat roofing systems and installation methods * Experience managing multiple live sites concurrently * Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial control * Ability to travel regularly between sites in West Yorkshire * Local to West Yorkshire (or within a practical commuting distance to Wakefield) Desirable / Preferred -SMSTS -Black CSCS (Manager level) -First Aid at Work -Background as a time-served roofer or demonstrable history of working on the tools Experience with the following systems is highly desirable: Felt Systems -IKO -Bauder -Icopal Single Ply Systems -Bauder -IKO Liquid Coating Systems -Lancastria -IKO -Sika -Bauder
