Senior Quantity Surveyor About the role Join our Tier 1 client as a Senior Quantity Surveyor based from their offices just outside Glasgow. Please note that this client does not provide sponsorship for international candidates and you would require at least 5 years working experience in the UK to be considered. We're looking for an Experienced Quantity Surveyor with a track record in managing all costs and income within their area of responsibility. They seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. Preferably, they will be a Chartered Member of the RICS, CICES or CIOB or working to achieve in the near future. Experience of managing a small team of commercial staff as well as mentoring others on their journey to becoming professionally qualified is desirable. They will maintain their Continuing Professional development too. What you'll be doing Request information and systematically check data Prepares Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules & analyses tender documents Critically appraises, estimates and negotiates the above with 3rd parties Reviews complex contract programmes such as Time-Location, Assists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes Monitors subcontract activities, measure and respond appropriately Prepares Internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation and report to senior project staff. Understanding of the Customer Contract and undertakes customer and stakeholder management Analyses rates & prices, agreement of variations and or compensation events as required Prepares, submits and negotiates claims when required Manages commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders for their area of responsibility Undertakes constructability analyses using construction programmes. Prepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategy. Development, Recruitment and Retention Supports the recruitment, supervision and development of team members A good knowledge of and adheres to the Company's governance requirements and maximises LEAN/digital opportunities Who we're looking for The following are essential: BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent knowledge MRICS/MCInstCES/MCIOB or working towards CSCS Card (Professional Qualified Person) Why work for them Day in, day out, our teams deliver some of the UK's most ambitious, exciting and meaningful projects; developing, building and maintaining the vital infrastructure that supports national economies and strengthens communities.
