C4ISR Policy & Interoperability Consultant (Contract - SOW) Duration: 9 months (4 deliverable's) Start Date/End Date: 2 March 2026 - 31 December 2026 Location: Fully Remote Contract: Outside IR35 Rate: €120k-€140k total payment (Approx. €800-€1,100/day if key milestones are met) iO Associates has partnered with a Defence Consultancy to recruit a senior-level C4ISR consultant to support NATO and defence organisations in shaping the policy, governance, and future evolution of C3/C4ISR capabilities, with a strong focus on interoperability. Key Requirements Expert knowledge of NATO C4ISR systems, emerging technologies, and software development best practices. In-depth knowledge of NATO C3 policies and directives, including the NATO C3 Interoperability Policy and NATO Enterprise C3 Interoperability Directive. Proven experience across the full C4ISR/IT system lifecycle (analysis, design, engineering, development, integration, implementation). Demonstrated experience managing complex C4ISR capability development projects. Strong background in producing technical documentation (reports, specifications). Experience working within NATO committees and working groups, particularly on capability development and interoperability. Expertise using and maintaining Wikimedia / Semantic MediaWiki platforms.
