Electrical Project Planner


Electrical Project Planner (Major UK Nuclear New‑Build Programme) South West / South Wales with travel to major UK nuclear construction site £45,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience) Full‑time, Permanent 9‑day fortnight (project dependent) About the Role We are supporting a key delivery partner working on one of the UK’s most significant new‑build nuclear programmes. As an Electrical Project Planner, you will play an essential role in building, maintaining and analysing project schedules that support the safe, timely and quality‑assured delivery of complex electrical systems. Working within a high‑hazard, highly regulated environment, you will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, commercial teams and wider delivery partners to ensure programme objectives are met in line with stringent nuclear safety, quality and reporting standards. This role is ideally suited to planners with experience in complex infrastructure, MEP packages or regulated construction projects who are looking to develop within a large, multi‑discipline delivery environment. Key Responsibilities * Develop, maintain and analyse detailed project schedules in support of electrical delivery activities, ensuring alignment with the overall programme execution plan. * Track progress against baselines, monitor key milestones, identify variances and support the development of mitigation strategies. * Produce planning reports, schedule dashboards, progress updates and risk‑based analyses for internal stakeholders and programme governance. * Work closely with electrical engineers, project managers and commercial teams to ensure accurate sequencing, resource planning and integration with wider MEP and civil activities. * Support planning input for contract variations, early warnings, package reviews and schedule‑driven commercial assessments. * Attend coordination meetings at project offices and construction sites, providing clear and concise schedule updates. * Ensure all planning activities and documentation comply with the standards, procedures and behaviours expected within a nuclear‑regulated environment, including quality assurance, configuration control and safety‑critical processes. About You * Experience as a Project Planner within electrical, MEP, industrial or complex construction environments. * Strong understanding of planning principles within large‑scale infrastructure projects. * Proficiency in industry‑standard planning tools (Primavera P6 preferred; Asta Powerproject or MS Project also considered). * Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and construction methodologies to build accurate programmes. * Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and support decision‑making. * Comfortable working within a high‑compliance, safety‑driven environment. * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel. Working Hours Standard project working pattern aligned to a 9‑day fortnight, with occasional additional hours depending on programme requirements. Some work may take place at regional offices prior to full mobilisation to the main construction site.
