Senior Civil Engineer

Senior Civil Engineer Bristol £50k-£60k plus benefits Our client, a multi-disciplinary consultancy based in Bristol, is seeking an experienced Senior Civil/Drainage Engineer to join their team. The role is ideal for a candidate with extensive expertise in below-ground drainage, including Section 104 projects, as well as standard road design under Section 38/278. The successful candidate will 5also have experience in preparing flood risk assessments and drainage strategies, delivering technically robust solutions across a variety of infrastructure projects. The role requires strong proficiency with civil engineering and drainage modelling software, including WinDES, Microdrainage/Causeway Flow, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and AutoTrack. Responsibilities include the design, assessment, and preparation of adoption-ready drainage and highway drawings, calculations, and contract documentation, as well as overseeing and mentoring junior engineers and technicians. The engineer will liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the required standards. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' UK highways and drainage experience, a solid understanding of SuDS design, and competence in highway layout and ground modelling. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential, along with excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach. A flexible, proactive attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure are highly valued. Candidates must hold a valid driving license, be eligible to work in the UK, and ideally be working toward Chartership with a relevant professional body.
