Electrical Engineer

Job Title: Electrical Engineer Location: Birmingham Purpose of the Job • To provide electrical maintenance and support across commercial or industrial sites in Birmingham, ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. • To carry out reactive and planned maintenance while supporting compliance and site uptime. • To participate in call-out duties as required. Key Responsibilities • Perform reactive and planned electrical maintenance across assigned sites. • Fault-find, repair, and maintain electrical systems including lighting, distribution, and associated plant. • Participate in on-call / call-out rota when required. • Complete maintenance logs, handovers, and compliance documentation accurately. • Support overtime work from additional projects or urgent repairs. • Work collaboratively with other engineers to maintain site operations and safety standards. Personal Experience / Qualifications / Skills • Qualified electrical engineer with commercial, industrial, or critical site experience. • Experience with fault-finding and reactive maintenance. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Flexible, reliable, and proactive with a safety-first mindset. • Relevant certifications or HV/LV experience beneficial but not essential. Working Hours & Benefits • Monday – Friday, standard working hours (specific hours depending on site) • Salary: £39,000 – £45,000 DOE • On-call / call-out duties available • Overtime available • Van may be supplied for site travel • Training and progression opportunities Accountabilities • Accountable to the Site / Engineering Manager. • No direct line management responsibility. • Responsible for the safe and compliant operation of all electrical systems on site
