Mechanical Construction Manager Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands Sector: Data Centres | Mission-Critical Infrastructure A leading European data centre delivery specialist is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to join a growing project team in Amsterdam. This organisation delivers large-scale, turnkey data centre facilities across multiple European markets and is currently involved in several high-value, mission-critical builds. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced environment working on technically complex projects with long-term career progression. The Role As Mechanical Construction Manager, you will take ownership of mechanical works on site, overseeing delivery from construction through to handover while ensuring safety, quality, programme, and commercial objectives are met. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary point of contact for mechanical construction matters, liaising with key project stakeholders Develop and manage method statements and risk assessments for all mechanical and HVAC activities Coordinate installation sequencing to align with the overall construction programme Manage the commercial aspects of the mechanical package, from handover of estimates through procurement and delivery Lead technical procurement of plant, equipment, specialist subcontractors, and suppliers Support change management, including pricing variations, tracking scope changes, and contributing to monthly valuations and final accounts Maintain and manage short-term construction planning, including two-week look-ahead schedules Ensure appropriate labour resources are in place to meet programme requirements Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring work is delivered to the highest quality standards Monitor progress and formally notify project management of any delays, risks, or variations Ensure all materials and plant delivered to site meet approved specifications and are stored safely and securely Champion compliance and governance across site operations, including: Health & Safety leadership and enforcement Continuous improvement of safe systems of work High standards of housekeeping Implementation of company procedures alongside package managers Effective control of cost and programme impacts Skills & Experience Recognised mechanical qualification (e.g. BEng, HNC/HND, City & Guilds, BTEC, or NVQ) Proven experience in a similar mechanical construction management role Background within mechanical or M&E contracting environments Experience on data centre or other mission-critical projects is highly advantageous Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills What's on Offer Opportunity to work on large-scale, high-profile data centre projects Long-term project pipeline across Europe Career progression within a growing international organisation
