Role purpose To deliver high-quality, evidence-based autism diagnostic assessments remotely for children, young people and/or adults (depending on service line), using ADI-R and ADOS-2 (where clinically appropriate and feasible via remote delivery), contributing to MDT diagnostic decision-making and producing clear, person-centred diagnostic reports with recommendations. Key responsibilities * Undertake remote autism diagnostic assessments in line with best practice and relevant guidance (e.g., NICE CG128 where applicable to pathway). * Conduct ADI-R interviews with parents/carers (or informants) and integrate developmental history, collateral and questionnaires. * Deliver ADOS-2 assessments (as commissioned/required) using appropriate clinical judgement regarding suitability for remote administration and adaptations within professional standards and service protocols. * Participate in MDT formulation and diagnostic meetings, presenting cases clearly and contributing to diagnostic decisions. * Produce high-quality diagnostic reports within agreed turnaround times, including strengths, needs, diagnostic outcome, and practical recommendations for home, education and community settings. * Liaise professionally with families, schools and referrers to gather information and ensure a smooth assessment journey. * Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records in line with UK GDPR, information governance requirements, and Seven Care Services policies. * Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns in accordance with local safeguarding procedures and internal escalation routes. * Contribute to service improvement, audits and outcome monitoring as requested by the Clinical Lead. Essential criteria * Relevant professional qualification and registration (as applicable), e.g.: * HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist / Practitioner Psychologist / Occupational Therapist / Speech and Language Therapist, or * GMC registered Psychiatrist / Paediatrician, or other appropriately regulated clinician accepted by the service pathway. * Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience in neurodevelopmental assessment and/or autism diagnostic pathways. * Demonstrable competency and experience administering: * ADI-R (essential) * ADOS-2 (essential) * Strong clinical reasoning and ability to apply diagnostic criteria (DSM-5 / ICD-11 as relevant to service protocol) within an MDT framework. * Experience writing clear, high-quality autism diagnostic reports with evidence-based recommendations. * Confident working remotely (video platforms), with excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with families online. * Understanding of reasonable adjustments and neurodiversity-affirming practice, including sensory, communication and learning needs. * Up-to-date knowledge and application of safeguarding responsibilities. * Excellent time management and ability to meet agreed timeframes and productivity expectations. * Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) and right to work in the UK. * Access to a confidential workspace, reliable internet, and ability to use IT systems securely
