Senior Systems Engineer


Senior Systems Engineer Join a leading technology & engineering organisation We are looking for a talented Senior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team, contributing to a wide variety of innovative, high‑impact engineering projects. This is a key, customer‑facing role based at our Enfield site, supporting the full systems engineering lifecycle-from initial concept development through to final delivery. Some travel may be required depending on project demands. What You'll Be Doing Leading and supporting systems engineering activities across design, integration, verification, and delivery. Developing and implementing engineering solutions at every stage of the product lifecycle. Working collaboratively with software, mechanical, electrical, and other engineering teams. Producing high‑quality technical artefacts including proposals, specifications, and reports. Mentoring and guiding junior engineers, fostering best practice and knowledge sharing. Engaging confidently with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Managing your workload across multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment. What We're Looking For Essential Experience & Skills Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent professional experience. Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and lifecycle processes. Hands-on experience in systems design, integration, and test. Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills. Excellent written English and strong IT skills. Willing and able to travel when required. Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance. Desirable (But Not Essential) Experience in any of the following would be beneficial: Radar or radio systems. Full product lifecycle work-from concept to in-service support. Working with external standards and test houses (MIL-STD, Def Stan, IEC). Communication protocols such as RS485, RS232, TCP/IP, CANBus. Naval platform development or navigation equipment. Using test equipment: multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers. Basic electronics and circuit-level fault finding. Soldering and hands-on tools experience. Understanding of EMC, ESD, and electronics environments. Leading multidisciplinary engineering teams. Delivering engineering work packages to time, cost, and quality. Professional membership (IMechE, IET, INCOSE). Experience preparing bid documentation or technical proposals. Who You Are Motivated, proactive, and able to manage your work independently.
