About the Role As the Health & Safety Manager, you will own the organisation’s HSEQ strategy, ensuring that health, safety, environmental, and quality objectives are consistently met. You will lead a team of H&S professionals, provide strategic guidance to senior management, and champion a culture where safety is embedded at every level. You will be based in Inverness, with regular travel to projects across Scotland. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and oversee the organisation’s HSEQ strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals. Lead and mentor a team of Health & Safety advisors, fostering professional development and high performance. Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on HSE risks, compliance, and improvement opportunities. Drive organisational change to continuously improve safety culture and operational performance. Oversee HSE audits, inspections, and compliance checks, ensuring findings are addressed effectively. Direct incident and near-miss investigations, ensuring lessons learned are embedded across the business. Maintain and develop ISO management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001), ensuring ongoing compliance. Promote proactive engagement across the workforce, ensuring safety is prioritised in all operations. Qualifications & Experience: Proven experience in a Health & Safety leadership or managerial role, preferably in civil engineering, energy, or infrastructure projects. Strong track record of developing and implementing HSEQ strategies at organisational level. NEBOSH National/International Diploma and IOSH membership essential. Experience managing ISO management systems (9001, 14001, 45001). CSCS certification required; substation authorisation desirable. Demonstrated ability to influence leadership and embed safety culture across multiple teams. Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
