Job Title: Multi Skills Tutor Location: HMP Onley Salary: From £30,000 Contract: Permanent Prison-based role requiring full site presence and face-to-face learner engagement.    Role Overview: We are recruiting a committed Multi Skills Tutor to deliver high‑quality vocational training within a prison environment. You will work with small groups of learners to develop practical skills, knowledge, and behaviours that support their long‑term goals and reduce re‑offending. This role goes far beyond delivering training—you will inspire and motivate learners who may have had little or no prior education. Training will focus on Dry Lining, Plastering, and Brickwork, helping learners to develop strong trade skills and progress into further training or employment.    Key Responsibilities: Learner Support & Vocational Delivery Deliver engaging and structured lessons in Dry Lining, Plastering, and Brickwork. Identify individual learner needs and create personalised learning plans linked to progression goals. Prepare, deliver, and review lesson plans to ensure high-quality vocational training and learner engagement. Motivate and inspire individuals to increase confidence, retention, and achievement. Provide constructive feedback to support learner development and progression. Programme Administration & Compliance Complete all required administration including ILPs, registers, reviews, and awarding body documentation. Ensure all delivery meets safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and data protection standards. Achieve and maintain contractual performance targets and KPIs. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Work collaboratively with colleagues to support learner progression into employment or further learning. Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement across the vocational department.    Essential Criteria: Level 2 vocational qualification in Dry Lining, Plastering, Brickwork, or a related construction trade. Strong, practical vocational experience in at least one of the above disciplines. Experience delivering vocational training or trade-based instruction. Ability to use a variety of teaching methods to engage learners with different learning styles and backgrounds. Excellent communication, organisational, and motivational skills. Understanding of safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and data protection requirements.    Desirable Criteria: Level 3 qualification in Dry Lining, Plastering, or Brickwork (highly advantageous). Teaching or assessing qualification (or willingness to work towards). Experience working with learners in secure, challenging, or disadvantaged settings.
