My client is seeking a skilled Welder / Fabricator Fitter to join their team, supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of Power and distribution transformers across the UK. This is a field-based role with regular overnight stays, working on high-value, large-scale electrical equipment. Key Responsibilities * Perform Stick welding and fabrication tasks to support transformer assembly, repair and maintenance. Fit and assemble transformer components (e.g., radiators, bushings, steel structures, A-frames, and tank sections). Carry out site-based welding and mechanical fitting to high safety and quality standards. Interpret and work from engineering drawings, schematics, and technical instructions. Work safely at customer sites, adhering to health & safety and company procedures. Collaborate with engineers and technicians to complete projects on time and to specification. Requirements * Proven experience in welding (Stick/MMA), fabrication, and mechanical fitting. Background in working with large industrial equipment (power, heavy engineering, or transformer sector preferred). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Willingness to travel nationwide with regular overnight stays. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. Desirable * Experience in the power / transformer industry. Additional welding certifications (MIG/TIG) or mechanical qualifications. Familiarity with heavy lifting operations and site-based work
