Job Description A leading aerospace manufacturing organisation in Tewkesbury is seeking an experienced Star Sliding Head Lathe Setter to join a high-performing CNC machining cell on a permanent night shift. This role is suited to a mid–senior level setter with strong Star machine experience, a quality-first mindset, and the ability to work to extremely tight tolerances in a regulated manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities * Set up and operate Star Sliding Head CNC lathes * Consistently achieve daily production targets while maintaining exceptional quality standards within a lean manufacturing cell * Carry out self-inspection and in-process quality checks * Use manual and automated metrology equipment * Complete quality audits and work towards self-certification * Read and interpret engineering drawings, inspection plans, and shop documentation * Accurately record inspection and production data * Support continuous improvement and problem-solving activities * Perform basic preventative machine maintenance * Work in line with lean manufacturing principles including 5S Candidate Requirements * Proven experience setting Star Sliding Head lathes * Recognised machining apprenticeship or equivalent experience * Strong experience working to tight tolerances * Good understanding of GD&T * Confident using manual and automated inspection equipment * Able to read drawings in metric and imperial * Quality-driven, detail-focused, and self-motivated * Comfortable working independently on night shift Benefit * Competitive night-shift salary and premium * 33 days holiday including bank holidays * Private medical insurance and wellbeing support * Generous pension and life assurance * Employee share scheme * Free onsite parking, EV charging, and gym facilities * Long-term career progression Apply Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis, and the role may close once a suitable candidate is appointed.
