Work Preparation Lead - HPC (Permanent, Full‑Time) A Work Preparation Lead is required to join the team on‑site at Hinkley Point C, supporting one of the UK's most significant and complex infrastructure projects. This permanent role offers the opportunity to play a key part in delivering high‑quality engineering within a highly regulated nuclear environment. Role Overview The Work Preparation Lead ensures that all information, materials, and conditions are fully prepared before physical work begins. Operating at the intersection of design engineering and on‑site construction, the role is critical in maintaining safety, quality, and schedule performance. This position acts as the central interface between the design team, the client, and construction personnel, resolving technical issues early and ensuring seamless execution of piping installation activities. Key Responsibilities Ensure timely readiness of all documentation, materials, and logistics for large‑bore and small‑bore piping installation. Bridge communication between design engineering and on‑site construction teams to support efficient delivery. Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving technical queries and closing open points before they impact the schedule. Lead the development, coordination, and acceptance of Construction Work Packs (CWPs) essential for field execution. Manage all site preparation and installation documentation, supporting the Site Manager in daily operational duties. Promote and uphold a strong health and safety culture, leading by example at all times. Utilise tools such as Navisworks and project management software to support planning and design review. Qualifications HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field OR NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant trade CCNSG - Mandatory Experience Required Proven experience in a construction or installation environment Background in highly regulated sectors such as nuclear, oil & gas, or petrochemicals Strong understanding of piping systems, pressure systems regulations, engineering standards, and construction sequencing Experience working on large‑scale infrastructure projects Role Details Location: HPC site Hours: 38 hours per week Schedule: Monday to Friday, full‑time on site Contract: Permanent staff position This vacancy is being advertised by Belcan
