Management Accountant / Bookkeeper Must have experience in Construction. We are recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant / Bookkeeper to join a well-established UK business specialising in the supply, manufacture, and delivery of bespoke stone and high-quality materials for commercial and residential projects. Operating from an office and production environment, the business manages multiple live orders and projects at any one time and requires a hands-on finance professional to take ownership of the day-to-day financial function. The Management Accountant / Bookkeeper’s Role The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full finance function, ensuring Sage Line 50 is fully up to date and producing accurate financial information to support the directors and wider business. This is a stand-alone, hands-on position requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a busy operational environment. Key Responsibilities Purchase & Sales Ledger Manage purchase order processing (POPs) Call in and chase supplier invoices as required Accurately enter supplier invoices Manage petty cash transactions Manage sales order processing (SOPs) and ensure all sales are correctly invoiced Payments & Payroll Prepare and process supplier payments Process payroll and salaries Post wage roll journals Manage and administer the company pension scheme Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare cashflow forecasts Produce Profit & Loss reports Analyse expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities Assist with maximising company resources Compliance & Submissions Prepare CIS figures for monthly submission Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns Carry out bank reconciliations Approve and assess credit applications Perform company checks as required Costing & Stock Manage stock control Prepare product, factory, and project costings Assist with ongoing project cost monitoring Systems & Administration Assist with software installations and system maintenance Carry out daily system backups The Management Accountant / Bookkeeper Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role Excellent knowledge of Sage Line 50 Accounts (essential) Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP advantageous) Highly accurate with strong attention to detail Well organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities Comfortable working autonomously in a stand-alone role Office-based, five days per week In Return Up to £50,000 (dependent on experience) 20 days holiday plus bank holidays Stable, long-term opportunity within an established business Full-time, office-based role If you are a Management Accountant or Bookkeeper considering your next career move, please get in touch for a confidential discussion.
