Trainee Assembly Technician


Trainee Assembly Technician Parachute Department Location: Denham, Middlesex Salary: £27,500 per annum Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday–Thursday: 8:00am–5:00pm, Friday: 8:00am–12:00pm) Syntech Recruitment is working with a world-renowned UK aerospace manufacturer to recruit a Trainee Assembly Technician for their Parachute Department based in Denham. This is a hands-on trainee opportunity for someone who enjoys precise, methodical assembly work, following detailed instructions, and developing specialist skills within a clean, safety-critical aerospace environment. No previous parachute experience is required — full training is provided. The Role As a Trainee Assembly Technician, you will be trained to carry out detailed assembly and inspection work under the guidance of experienced technicians. The role is highly practical and suited to individuals who take pride in accuracy, patience, and producing work to exacting standards. You will be working to written instructions, drawings, and job cards, assembling intricate components and ensuring all work is completed in line with quality and safety requirements. Much of the work is repetitive and detail-focused, so a calm, methodical approach is essential. What We’re Looking For This role is ideal for someone who is naturally hands-on and enjoys building or assembling things properly. Relevant experience doesn’t have to come from industry — hobbies and personal projects are genuinely valued. We’re particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate: * Patience, precision, and strong manual dexterity * Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy * Confidence following written instructions and diagrams * Mechanical reasoning and problem-solving skills * A willingness to ask questions and learn from mistakes Hands-on experience such as: * Building detailed LEGO sets, Airfix kits, model trains or scale models * RC cars, planes or drones * Mechanical DIY, bike or vehicle maintenance * Assembly work to technical drawings or instructions An HNC in Mechanical or General Engineering would be advantageous but is not essential.
