HGV Technician (Municipal)

Job Title: HGV Technician (Municipal) * Salary: £24.50p/h (OT rate £36.75p/h) * Shift: Earlies - 06.00 - 14.30 * Type: Permanent * Location: Reading We are looking for a HGV Technician to join our prestigous client at one of their REFUSE commercial vehicles in Reading. This role also offers the opportunity to gain an IRTEC, IVR and a Heavy Goods Licence. HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter Job Responsibilities: * Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures and in a safe and responsible manner. * Assist in the fault diagnosis process. * Comply with warranty procedures during repairs and with warranty material on completion of a repair. * Work with the parts team to ensure the correct replacement parts are fitted to the vehicles. * Road test vehicle when required (if holder of HGV licence). * Ensure that the company time recording procedures are complied with and that job cards are completed accurately * Ensure that service sheets are completed as per manufacture instructions. * Ensure that all vehicle defects are reported to your workshop controller HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter Qualifications and Requirements: * Experience within the REFUSE commercial vehicle industry. * Time-served HGV Technician or equivalent qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 preferred) * Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills * An extensive experience in carrying out repairs and maintenance on trucks, components and associated vehicles. * Familiarization with developments in the automotive industry. * Valid Driving License HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter Benefits: * Opportunity to gain IRTEC & IVR Qualifications from in-house training school * 25 days rising to 30 days with service * Pension Scheme with employer contribution of up to 5% * Individual responsibility and lots of latitude. * An excellent salary and employment package. * Plenty of chances for further training and development. * Job security * Opportunities for ongoing training and professional development. * Pension scheme. * Employee assistance program.
