Systems Engineer

Powertrain Systems Engineer – Sensors & Gas Path (Contract) We are recruiting a Powertrain Systems Engineer (PTSE) to support the design, development and release of fuel and evaporative emissions systems for a major automotive OEM programme. This role is suited to an engineer with hands-on fuel system hardware experience who has owned components through design, validation and launch, working closely with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams. Key Responsibilities * Lead design, development and release of powertrain fuel system components * Ownership of Fuel Tank, Fuel Filler, Filler Pipe, Filler Hose, Fuel Cap, Fuel Delivery Module (FDM), Charcoal Canister, EVAP lines and Leak Detection Systems * Apply Failure Mode Avoidance, FMEA / FMA, 8D problem solving and root cause analysis * Support APQP, EBER and launch activities * Systems engineering activities including requirements management, integration and verification * Manage suppliers and support cost, quality and timing targets Essential Experience * Automotive Powertrain / Fuel Systems Engineering * Design and release of fuel or EVAP hardware components * Strong understanding of EVAP systems and emissions * Experience with FMEA, 8D, warranty or failure investigation * Background in OEM or Tier 1 automotive environments Desirable * Systems engineering methodologies * APQP / launch experience * Supplier management exposure This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile vehicle programmes, gaining exposure to OEM engineering standards and complex powertrain systems.
