Senior Systems Engineer

Copello have partnered with an established Defence Engineering business in the recruitment of a Senior Systems Engineer. This role focuses on the design and delivery of advanced systems in areas such as resilient navigation, RF communications and sensor-based technologies used in challenging operational environments. What you’ll be doing: * Leading system design across the full lifecycle, from early R&D through to deployment and support * Acting as technical authority on selected projects, guiding architecture, trade-offs and engineering decisions * Working closely with end users and stakeholders to shape and deliver effective solutions * Providing technical assurance, managing risk and ensuring quality, performance and delivery targets are met What we’re looking for: * A degree in engineering, computer science or a related technical discipline * Strong systems engineering background with experience leading technically complex projects * Knowledge of sensor and/or communication systems * Ability to operate in technically demanding, stakeholder-facing environments Nice to have: * Experience with navigation, positioning or timing systems (including resilient or alternative approaches) * Exposure to RF, EW, DSP, FPGA, SDR or antenna-based systems * Familiarity with structured development processes (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, SAFe, Spiral) * Experience identifying and managing technical risks Please note candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance for this position.
