Design Engineer

We are recruiting for a Design Engineer to be an integral part of the team: Benefits * Competitive salary £40k - £50k DOE * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays – ops to buy more holidays * Contribution towards eye test and glasses * Online company discount benefits site including cinema tickets and gym membership discount * Long Service Awards * Employee recognition scheme * Employee Assistance Programme * Flexible Benefits Package * 37 hours per week with a 1pm finish on a Friday * Hybrid working opportunities Your Key Responsibilities * Responsible for all aspects of design * Undertake Risk Assessments and FMEA. * Organise and attend regular multi-disciplinary design reviews. * Produce required legislative documentation. * Monitoring of budgets and project plans. * Liaison with customers and suppliers. * Generation of ‘Design, Operation and Maintenance’ documentation. * Provide customer support, as required. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise * HNC in relevant design or engineering discipline, or equivalent * Previous experience in material handling or similar * Good 3D CAD software knowledge (Autodesk Inventor or Revit preferred). * Understanding of the design process, and its associated documentation. * Good knowledge of manufacturing processes associated with heavy fabrication. * Understanding of mechanical and structural design principles. * Good understanding of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA). * Proficient at using Microsoft Office applications. * Ability to clearly communicate design ideas, both internally and externally.
