We are recruiting for a Structural Manager to be an integral part of the team: This role can will be based in either Sunderland OR Chorley depending on the distance of the individual (TBD) Benefits * Competitive salary £50k - £70k DOE * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays – ops to buy more holidays * Contribution towards eye test and glasses * Online company discount benefits site including cinema tickets and gym membership discount * Long Service Awards * Employee recognition scheme * Employee Assistance Programme * Flexible Benefits Package * 37 hours per week with a 1pm finish on a Friday * Hybrid working opportunities Your Key Responsibilities * Wholly accountable for the quality of Civil/ Structural engineering output, and on-time delivery in accordance with project requirements. * Ensure all Civil/ Structural designs are code compliant, meet specification, safe in design, and consider lifecycle requirements. * Support Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Bids with information and guidance. * Work closely with other Department Heads in the business to ensure synergy. * Promote Civil/ Structural/ equipment standardisation and re-use. * Line management responsibilities and duties across multiple sites; responsible for departmental performance and setting objectives to meet business and individual goals. * Development of Civil/ Structural engineering tools and processes that ensure designs are robust and outputs in line with scope. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise * BEng (Hons) in Engineering (preferably Civil or Structural) * Chartered Engineer (CEng, preferably ICE or IStructE) * Strong experience in a Civil/ Structural engineering field. * Knowledge of the construction & process industries and applicable standards. * Ability to use structural analytical software unaided (STAAD Pro or TEKLA Structures preferred). * Ability to interpret Site Investigation reports and identify civil implications. * Happy to travel between the two sites in the North West and North East a couple of times a month.
